JUNE 2025 with GEORGE PATTON WATERS

It’s a great honor to welcome to the Contemporary Club this evening our speaker, George Patton “Pat” Waters. We got to be friends during our work with the Patton Museum Foundation at Fort Knox.

That association with an exceptional American family has been a highlight in my life. I believe it will be a highlight for you as Pat shares family stories.

The Patton family military roots extend all the way back to 1215 when the English dukes forced King John to sign the Magna Carta at Runnymede.

Prior to the American Revolution, Robert Patton, a Scot, settled in Culpepper, Virginia, from which descended two Confederate soldiers, one who died in the Third Battle of Winchester and the other in Pickett’s Charge at Gettysburg.

But, it is Pat’s larger-than-life grandfather, General George Smith Patton, Jr., with whom you are about to share the evening.

You have had a chance to read Pat’s bio, so I won’t elaborate other than to say that he is one of the most gracious and generous members of his family.

He is a friend’s friend and a committed American patriot who gives first and asks nothing in return.

Pat and his lovely wife, Martha, live in a spacious home overlooking a tranquil creek in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina full of military memorabilia from an exceptional American family.

Ladies and gentlemen, please give a warm Contemporary Club welcome to George Patton “Pat” Waters!
